This was the second or third song I ever wrote as Heccra. I was really dumb to explore using linear pitch shifting on my main vocal channel and then distorting it afterward. The track was originally entitled "Super Nightmare Dreams." It's based off a dream I had were I drove around my shitty rural town at night, the streets were tiny and my Car (which was a black 1966 SS) could barely fit. I drove around trying to find my friends, who had all gone off to college. Once again, fear of loneliness. It was October, and rainy, just fucking dark man.
lyrics
I am not afraid, of razordblades,
this is just a test.
I ran from the coast to avoid the coming wave, and got swallowed by the sea, They're coming after me
I ran from the world to avoid the coming storm, and got saven by the sea, They're watching over me.
(A massive power outage blacked out the entire town
I looked up and saw more stars than I've ever seen)
If we, cut the power
station, cause a massive black out
we can see the stars that
we have never seen yet.
I have a huge appreciation for texture, and sonic texture. This record's lo-fi is something so well felt, it's brilliant. I can't get over the one chord structured song, "How I spent my Summer." Heccra
